This K66 Upgrade Kit is not simply a “repair kit” for broken/failed K46′s. We complete replace the K46/K58 with a brand new K66.
It is kit designed to bring your tractor up to a level of performance greater than it ever was originally. It will have virtually TWICE the torque to the rear wheels.

The K66 Upgrade Kit is based upon the concept that you can easily Upgrade your tractor to a higher level of performance and reliability. In addition, you will have a fully serviceable transaxle built to automotive standards.

Instead of an otherwise perfectly good tractor with a bottom-of-the-line marginal transaxle, you will now have a tractor that will perform even better than you expected when you bought it and can handle the heavy-duty jobs that caused your K46 transaxle to fail. The K66 is rated for 'Ground Engagement.'

This kit provides everything you need to complete the upgrade, including the required 1' axle diameter wheel/rims. You simply transfer your current tires over to the new rims. (Some kits use new hubs, rather than rims.)

This is an easy Do-It-Yourself kit. Typically, most people can install the kit in 4-5 hours.
It is basically 'Remove-the-old-parts-and-install-the-new-ones.'

What additional things you will need?
> Two auto-type jack stands.
> Basic hand tools and a basic set of metric box end wrenches or sockets.
(Possibly an electric hand drill)
> A safe place to work.
> Personal safety items, such as eye protection, gloves, adequate work space and fire extinguisher.
> A 'Helper-Outer.' (i.e., friend or spouse)
What results to expect?
A great tractor that doesn't give up when the going gets tough. It will essentially be changed from a 'Lawn Mower' to a Utility Garden Tractor with about double the torque! It will now be suitable for snow work, hauling trailers and reasonable ground engagement uses.
Your ground speeds will be the same or slightly faster, in both FORWARD and REVERSE.

Q: How hard is the kit to install? I only have a moderate amount of mechanical skills.
A: With over 1300 kits sold, just about all skill levels have installed the kit ... From teen-age kids and 65 yr. old ladies. No one has ever returned a kit because they could not install it.

Q: How long does it take to install?
A: Usually around 4-5 hours, but it can vary depending on your situation.

Q: What happens if I have a problem installing the kit?
A: Pick up the phone and call me. I will personally talk you through the problem. No one has ever failed to install a kit.

Q: Do I need to buy new tires?
A: No, you can use your current tires by transferring to the new rims. As an option, if your tractor has 8' rims and tires, you can request 12' rims be supplied with the kit. (No extra cost)
If you change from 8' to 12' you will gain about ten percent in speed, but will need to purchase new tires. (We do not sell tires, but can advise you where to buy.)

Q: How much is shipping?

A: We offer a FOREVER WARRANTY. If a part fails and proves to be defective, regardless of time, we will replace it for free. (Needless to say, 'wear & tear' excepted.)

Q: My current transaxle has failed after only 220 hours. Will the K66 last longer?
A: The K66 is completely serviceable and built to higher standards. It is far more reliable. We can not predict how long your new K66 will last, in your circumstances, however, if serviced as recommended, it likely will last as long as you want to keep the tractor. A rebuild kit is available from Tuff Torq, in case you want to keep your tractor 'forever,'

Q: Will this handle a snow blower?
A: Yes, I have been using a snow blower with my L130/K66 for over seven years. It works great!
